Effective date

These SMS Messaging Terms & Conditions ("SMS Terms") govern your consent to receive text messages from WorkSlate, Inc. ("WorkSlate") and from service businesses using the WorkSlate platform ("Service Businesses"). Please read carefully before opting in.

1. Program Description

By opting in, you agree to receive recurring automated and non-automated SMS/MMS messages. Message types may include:

  • Appointment confirmations, reminders, and updates
  • Job status notifications (technician en route, job complete)
  • Quote delivery and approval requests
  • Invoice and payment notifications
  • Account alerts and security notifications
  • Customer satisfaction surveys
  • Promotional offers and marketing messages (only where separate explicit consent is provided)

2. How to Opt In

  • Checking the SMS consent checkbox in account registration or customer portal preferences (checkbox is not pre-checked; consent is optional and not tied to other services)
  • Texting START to the designated WorkSlate program number
  • Verbally confirming consent with a Service Business representative (documented in platform)
  • Submitting a web form with an explicit, unchecked opt-in checkbox

Marketing SMS consent is separate from transactional consent. Transactional messages may be sent pursuant to an existing business relationship without separate marketing opt-in. You will not be denied service for declining marketing SMS.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on account activity. Marketing messages, where consented, are sent no more frequently than reasonably necessary. Frequency will be disclosed at the point of opt-in.

4. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Charges are assessed by your wireless carrier. WorkSlate is not responsible for carrier charges.

5. How to Opt Out

  • Reply STOP to any WorkSlate or Service Business text message
  • Update communication preferences in your customer portal
  • Email support@getworkslate.com to request removal

After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation and will not receive further SMS unless you re-opt in. Opting out of marketing SMS does not prevent transactional messages necessary to fulfill service requests, unless you opt out of all SMS.

6. Getting Help

Reply HELP to any message, or contact support@getworkslate.com or getworkslate.com/contact.

7. Supported Carriers

Available on all major U.S. carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and US Cellular. WorkSlate is not liable for delays or failures caused by carrier networks.

8. Privacy and Data Use

  • We will not sell your SMS opt-in data or consent status to third parties
  • We will not share your phone number or consent status with unaffiliated third parties for their marketing
  • We may share opt-in data with SMS delivery providers (e.g., Twilio) solely for message delivery
  • SMS opt-in records are retained for a minimum of five (5) years per TCPA and carrier requirements

Full details in our Privacy Policy at getworkslate.com/legal/privacy-policy.

9. TCPA Compliance

All SMS communications comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), 47 U.S.C. 227, applicable FCC regulations, and CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices. Automated marketing messages are sent only to individuals who have provided prior express written consent.

10. International SMS

SMS features may be available in certain international markets. Users outside the U.S. should be aware of applicable local law, including Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), the EU ePrivacy Directive, and the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). WorkSlate will obtain appropriate consent as required by each jurisdiction.

11. Changes to SMS Terms

WorkSlate may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via SMS or email prior to taking effect.
